In November 2016 the EU Council, Commission and Parliament reached an informal final agreement on an EU Conflict Minerals regulation. The implementation date for the law is anticipated to be January 1, 2021. The EU version of the law is more expansive than the U.S. version regarding covered countries but less demanding on manufacturers.
