In May 2013, California’s assembly passed bill AB227 to mitigate Prop 65 lawsuit abuses.
The bill allows small business owners receiving these letters from attorneys regardign Prop 65 infractions to post required exposire scenario warnings within 14 days and pay a small civil fine without fear of lawsuits.
The bill passed the Assembly on a 71-0 vote and now the next step is to have it considered by the state Senate.
