European Commission Adds 8 Substances to REACH Authorisation List

In April 2013 the European Commission ammened Annex XIV of REACH by adding the following 8 substances to the Authorisation List: 
  1. Trichloroethylene: Sunset Date April 21, 2016
  2. Chromium trioxide: Sunset Date September 21, 2017
  3. Acids generated from chromium trioxide and their oligomers: Sunset Date September 21, 2017
  4. Sodium dichromate: Sunset Date September 21, 2017
  5. Potassium dichromate: Sunset Date September 21, 2017
  6. Ammonium dichromate: Sunset Date September 21, 2017
  7. Potassium chromate: Sunset Date September 21, 2017
  8. Sodium chromate: Sunset Date September 21, 2017

These substances can only be used freely within the EU until the last application date. An application for Authorization must be submitted and accepted by the ECHA before the sunset date.
