In December 2011 the EU Parliament finally agreed on WEEE Recast. According to the recast, member states have higher collection targets and recycling proportions, and requirements for registration and declaration are to be simplified/harmonized. Once Council formally approves the updated directive and it enters the EU lawbooks, Member States will have 18 months to update their national legislation. For more information visit:
