The GoodBye Chain Group
The Member State Committee identified twelve new Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs): nine through written procedure and three at its meeting from December 7-9, 2011. Eight further substances, which did not require the MSC involvement, were also identified as SVHCs.  These 20 new substances were added to the REACH SVHC Candidate List on December 19, 2011 bringing the total to 73 substances.  These additions trigger the June 19, 2012 notification date for producers and importers of articles to notify ECHA if the total substance in the articles they produce or import exceeds one tonne per year, and the SVHC concentration level in articles is above 0.1 % by weight, unless exemptions apply.
