India Enacts RoHS and WEEE
India has enacted the E-Waste (Management and Handling) Rules, 2011. The Rules 2011 cover both the restriction of hazardous materials in electronic and electrical equipment. WEEE provisions will enter into force on May 1, 2012, and RoHS provisions will enter into force on May 12, 2013. For a comparison of India RoHS to EU RoHS, visit Element 14.
